Newsletter - January 8, 2003
Thank you for visiting my web site and allowing me to share my work with you. My goal is to continually create an interesting and informative window of my work and to allow visitors an opportunity to tour the exciting world of make-up special effects. I welcome your emails and comments and will try to respond as time permits.
Fortunately, I've been extremely busy. Unfortunately, I haven't had a minute to update the newsletter until now. As we start 2003 here it is.
We began the new television season with “C.S.I.:Miami”, “Presidio Med” and “Robbery Homicide Division”. All three shows have been creatively challenging, allowing us a weekly window to work with prosthetic babies, pregnancies, operations, burn make-ups, scars, autopsies and other gross aspects of special make-up effects. Unfortunately, "Robbery Homicide Division" got canceled but the other two shows are going strong.
"C.S.I.:Miami" keeps us extremely busy with new and exciting effects each week. I'm always amazed as to how the show's writers can continually create ways in which people die in each episode.
This past year, we also worked on a few films, including "Charlie's Angels 2", aging Drew Barrymore to 85 years old, a character nose on Cameron Diaz and 3 pull off masks for all three Angels. On "Far Side of the World" we supplied a ton of prosthetics, bodies and a trepanning (surgically drilling into the head) prosthetic which Greg Funk & I applied. Ed Henriques did an amazing job department heading "Far Side of the World". Thanks Ed! We also made quiet a few prosthetics, effect gags and Bullseye's prosthetic forehead for "Daredevil" and worked on a few prosthetic make-up effect gags for "Cradle to the Grave".
Happy New Year and may we all be very very prosperous in all our endeavors.
Thanks
Matthew W. Mungle
